Training Programs for Rural Women Entrepreneurs:
BRTC supports rural women entrepreneurship by empowering SHG clusters with modern biotechnology inventions. Ten-days on-site training programs were conducted in rural clusters of Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh, benefitting 616 rural women. Local trainers covered topics like natural dye processing, mushroom cultivation, indigenous food product value addition, and modern food processing. BRTC collaborates with the National Innovation Foundation and MSME to identify grassroots innovations and clusters for further development. SFURTI funding schemes assist five of the 21 identified clusters in the Northeast, strengthening the impact of these initiatives.
